Come out and join Headwaters Trails, Inc., to volunteer and groom the Shiawassee River for the summer paddling season!
Sunday, May 20, should be just about the right time to get out the trees that have fallen and make our beautiful river paddle-able again. We are going to need lots of help all the way from Holly to Linden, so wherever you live along the river or wherever you like to paddle, come out and help. We’ll need people in the water with chain saws, people assisting from the banks, people to provide transportation from one spot to the next and people to help with the pizza thank you that ends the day.
Call Doug Lanyk for information at 248-634-4551. We will have several starting locations since this is a 14 mile stretch of river that we are trying to open.
